.45 caliber, 30" octagonal barrel turned round, .25" from end muzzle, barrel tapers from 1.310" at the breech to 1.170" at the muzzle. Barrel marked under rear barrel sight C.Gove, Denver Colorado. The right side of the frame has a Gove improvement a lever that closes the breechblock. Double set triggers, Ramrod and ferrules under the barrel. Forearm with pewter tip and held to barrel by a wedge. Select walnut buttstock with checkered wrist and "Hawken"-style buttplate forearm wedged to barrel with escutcheon plates and wedge. Rear post tang sight. Silver "Rocky Mountain"-style front blade sight and buckhorn rear barrel sight with elevator.
Barrel is mostly grey to brown with sharp and crisp markings. Frame is mottle grey to brown. Stock and forearm has been refinished many years ago. Overall very good example of this famous Colorado Gunsmith.
