Black leather covered " Half Spanish " tree with cast brass eagle head pommel horn and high cantle, iron hardware. Skirts are studded with plain brass domed conchos. Padded on the underside. Has brass stirrups. Complete with a permanently attached blue wool and canvas shabraque trimmed on the edge in double white bands. Typical of the saddles used in the Texas War of Independence and the Mexican War.

Good. Leather shows normal age and service wear, crazing and a small repair on the left skirt. Cantle edge worn and repaired with modern brads. The wool shabraque is heavily mothed.
