Half Spanish pattern saddle with black patent leather padded trapunto quilted seat, cast brass eagle head pommel and high padded cantle. Has harness leather skirts and stirrup straps with iron stirrups. Underside lined in padded linen. Complete with a woven web girth strap. These eagle head pommel saddles were popular with both regular army and militia officers during the pre-Civil War period

Good. Moderate to heavy service wear, leather split on the edge of the cantle with some loss. Most of the finish flaked off of the skirts. Lining edges worn and frayed.
