English, early 19th century. A Chippendale chest on chest in mahogany, with pine secondary wood, the upper case having a molded cornice, the canted beaded corners flanking two aligned over three graduated dovetailed drawers with brass pulls, the lower case consisting of pull-out writing surface over three graduated drawers with molded base, all rising on bracket feet; ht. 70, wd. 40.5, dp. 20.25 in.
Locks replaced, hardware replaced, escutcheons missing, repaired holes to sides, splits to wood on all sides, repair to right side of top graduated drawer, missing one knob on pull-out writing surface, bottoms of some drawers split.
