Barrel is bright and smooth with sharp and crisp markings. Lock and hammer are smooth and bright with very sharp markings. Triggerguard is smooth and bright. Bands are excellent. All metal has dried cosmoline look on the metal parts. Wood is excellent with nice dark red open-grained look. Overall this is an excellent example of a cadet musket that was issued to cadets at West Point.
