.69 caliber, 34.25" rifled round barrel, octagonal at the breech with proof marks, saber bayonet lug and long range rear sight. Tang stamped with the S/N 3392 . Lockplate marked with a large eagle over "WHITNEYVILLE", action functions properly. Two band walnut stock, clear cartouche on the side flat, rank numbers stamped on the wrist and the buttstock comb. A brass disc stamped with the number "30" is nailed on the right buttstock. Iron furniture includes a trigger guard with finger spur and a correct pattern contemporary replacement ramrod.
Very good with untouched brown patina on most metal and crisp stock with clear markings throughout. A very nice example.
