Prototype Model 1830 Cadet Musket
.69 caliber, 42" barrel length with smooth bore and trumpet-head ramrod. Markings on lock plate with eagle motif over "US" and at the back of the lock plate in three lines Spring over Field over 1831. Markings on barrel in three lines "P" over eagle head over "V." "US" marked on top of buttplate. "JR" marked in front of lower tang and cartouche of "JS" in script in oval. Has walnut stock and iron metal parts.

Walnut stock has scratches, nicks and dings. The barrel has minor pitting to a brown and plum patina throughout. The barrel bands have a gray-to-brown patina. The butt plate has minor pitting blending to a brown patina. The hammer and lock have minor pitting that blends to a brown patina. The markings and cartouche are sharp and crisp. This arm has a nice untouched look. The bore has pitting. The overall condition is very good and can clean to excellent.
