American (New England, probably Massachusetts), 18th century. A Queen Anne side chair in walnut, of peg construction, having a scrolled crest, vasiform splat, and upholstered slipper seat with conforming base, rising on cabriole legs with pad feet and block and turned stretchers; ht. 39, wd. 22, dp. 19 in.
