Shaker Rocker No. 7, Mt. Lebanon, New York
American (Mt. Lebanon, New York), late 19th century. A Shaker rocker in maple, with four arched slats flanked by turned stiles and acorn finials, the back of the top slat stamped 7, continuing to curved arm rests ending in mushroom cap handholds with baluster-turned supports, above a red and brown tape seat, all rising on turned legs joined by stretchers and ending in rockers, interior of left rocker retaining a partial gilt label; oah. 41.5 in.
Refinished. Some wear to finish on tips of finials. Some small tears, losses, and tiny holes to tape seat, mostly along the seat rails.
