Large English Carved Inlaid Mahogany Slant Front Desk, 19th c., the slanted baize inset lid opening to an interior fitted with open storage, seven drawers and a central inlaid cupboard fitted with two drawers and an upper "secret" drawer, over a frieze drawer and three graduated deep drawers, on a plinth base bracket feet, H.- 46 in., W.- 48 in., D.- 23 in.Condition consistent with age and use. Shrinkage crack to slant lid. Normal wear and tear with scuffs and scratches present throughout. Loss to veneer at bottom proper left of lid, approx. 1 inch. Shrinkage cracks to oval inlaid panel cupboard door. One brass button knob now lacking. White rub marks to proper left on second drawer down.
