- Lot Description
c 1950s Rose of Sharon Kit Quilt by Paragon, inspired by a quilt in the Florence Peto collection. It measures 79 by 94 inches. The center field is comprised of 2 solid white pieces of fabric measuring 32.5 inches wide, the block motifs are strategically set against this ground, 2 by 3, with a quilted border 9 inches wide and an appliqué undulating green vine and pink bud border 7.25 inches wide. It is machine pieced, hand appliquéd, and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and a white cotton reverse. The edge is finished knife edge style, by hand. It is in good condition with several yellow and dark spots that may so at soak out with a gentle cleaning. It was made by Marcelle Langdon Barker (1907-1976) of Oldwick, NJ. She graduated from Textile High School in NYC and worked in the fashion industry before her marriage to Frank L. Barker, Jr in 1931. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $30 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy. Each additional lot we can pack in the same box is $5 each. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
