The mahogany case with brass border inlay and gadroon top surmounting a brass pineapple finial, mounted with brass side handles above pierced sound frets on ball feet, the dial signed Watson, London, the reverse dial signed Watson, with blue steel spade hands; the movement five-pillar twin-fusee eight-day heavy brass movement, hour-rack striking with pull trip-repeart, strike/silent function above XII on dial, movement not signed, number 12010 is dye-stamped to the bottom of the front plate, original brass/lead ovoid pendulum with rating adjustment, pendulum hold down screw, the bell hammer has a cushioned face that results in a soft tone to the strike.
Height 15 1/2 inches (39.4 cm), width 8 1/2 inches (21.5 cm), depth 5 3/4 inches (14.7 cm).
Condition
Finial slightly loose, yellowing and crazing to dial, age cracks and lifting to veneers of case round dial, losses to sound frets, please note that Doyle does not guarantee the condition of clock movements.
