Collection: Property from a Prominent New Jersey CollectionOLD MAN WITH BEARD, FUR CAP, AND VELVET CLOAK (BARTSCH, HOLLSTEIN 262; HIND, NEW HOLLSTEIN 92) Etching and engraving, circa 1631, on laid paper with Arms of Ravensburg watermark (Cf Hinterding A.b), a good impression of New Hollstein's second state of three, with narrow to thread margins, framed. Plate 4 7/8 x 5 1/8 inches; 149 x 130 mm Sheet 6 x 5 1/4 inches; 153 x 135 mm Frame 26 x 25 3/8 inches; 660 x 645 mm Provenance: Sotheby's, London, Prints and Multiples, September 17, 2019, lot 53A few pieces of white hinging tape at sheet edges verso, some restored areas at top sheet edge near corners extending into the uninked background, some unobtrusive tiny spots of discoloration, a small faint area of discoloration in the bottom margin, framed with acrylic.
