A complete set in the deluxe limited editions on hand-made paper (respectively 110, 120, 125, 120, 120, 160, and 210 copies), volume VII signed by Morison, containing copious additional material, specimens, plates and illustrations. Seven volumes, publisher's cloth in the printed dust jackets, the first four in the plain black cloth of issue, the final three in the especially designed bindings. 11 1/4 x 8 1/2 inches (28.5 x 21.5 cm); 127; 114; 135; 164; 205; 232; 253 pp., ads at rear; profusely illustrated, numerous type specimens, leaves, and specimens from private presses inserted that are present only in this deluxe issue. Generally, a very fresh set, some of the jackets with losses, but still substantially complete.
As a periodical of the typographic arts, The Fleuron remains unrivalled. The early issues were printed at the Curwen Press; the final three issues at the Cambridge University Press. The inserts, a particular strength of the work, include examples from the Ashendene Press, the Officina Bodoni, the Nonesuch Genesis etc. Volume VI has a remarkable showing of type specimens prepared at Stempel, Bauer, Monotype, and Enschedé; the showing of Perpetua in volume VII is signed by Gill.
