Verso with handwritten label: '92, Jane, daughter of Mr. Thomas Knight, Born 1730 Died , unm: 1793, Cotes'. Frame size: 35 1/4 in. x 30 1/4 in. Listed in the Francis Cotes, Phaidon Press: Oxford, 1976, p. 82, catalogue number 199: "Jane Knight, Present whereabouts unknown. Oil on Canvas. 29 1/2 x 24 1/2 in. Signed and dated 1766. Condition: Unknown. Jane Knight, 1730-1793, daughter of Thomas Knight, Esq. H.S., head to the left, shoulders to the right, in a painted oval, wearing a brocade dress and a blue cloak; a plain background.
