A George III silver desk stand, the oblong form standing on paw feet with ovolo border, dual sunken pen rests, a central cylindrical compartment with detachable chamberstick cover and flanked either side by cut glass ink and pounce pots. Hallmarked John Edwards III, London 1810. Length of tray measuring 9 1/4 inches (23.5 cm), gross weighable silver 23.6 ozt (735 grams).
The lot displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Corner chip to one of the glass inserts. All parts with matching corresponding hallmarks, only the snuffer to the chamberstick with no matching maker's mark and the slightly later date of 1812.
