Eighth plate half-length studio portrait tintypes. N.p., circa 1861-1865. Uncased and full leatherette case.
A nice pair of portraits in a unique CDV size, both of which feature armed Union soldiers clad in their issue frocks and forage caps. An uncased example depicts a youthful Yankee infantryman with his musket by his side. The subject of the cased example proudly displays a pocket revolver across his chest. Neither subject is identified, but both are fine representative examples of the common northern fighting man.
