- Lot Description
Four (4) sixth plate portraits, presumably of family members. Top left and two bottom images are tintypes, top right is an ambrotype. N.p., [mid-19th century]. Full thermoplastic four-panel case.
The young man in the top left is seen in a full Union soldier's uniform, with gilt applied to his buckles and buttons. He is posed with a rifle affixed with a bayonet. Interestingly, portrait of the older man (perhaps the soldier's father?) shows him brandishing a revolver. Though too old to enlist, it may have been taken to show his desire to fight.
