Ninth plate seated studio portrait daguerreotype. N.p., circa early- to mid-19th century. Thermoplastic wall frame. With remnants of gilt.
Ninth plate daguerreotype of a little boy holding a cat in his lap. The boy looks directly at the camera, while his cat curls up with its head to the side. There is some slight pink to the boy's cheeks, added afterwards by hand. A nice addition to those collecting early photographs.
