Sixth plate half-length studio portrait daguerreotype. N.p., [mid-19th century]. Full leatherette case. Tinting to cheeks.
A superb occupational portrait of a young artisan, shown in protective work apron and bowler hat, and holding a small hammer or mallet in his right hand and a long, slender tool in his left hand, possibly a tufting needle indicating that the sitter may be an upholster.
