• Lot Description

  Full-length outdoor stereoview of Navajo Men. Santa Fe, New Mexico: H.T. Hiester, n.d. Publisher's imprint printed to mount verso. Pencil identification upper margin to verso “Navajo Pedro Agutcas(sp?) and Pedro Aguilar (?) ID from Melander collection of Hiestens glass plate negatives. Palace of the governor’s photo archives, New Mexico History Museum Santa Fe, NM. Neg no. 038038." Period pencil identification left margin to verso “Navajos.”

   

  Full-length outdoor stereoview of two Navajo men, one seated looking to the side, and one whose gaze is directed at the photographer’s lens. They are positioned in front of a natural background. The men are dressed almost identically in traditional clothing with blankets wrapped around their shoulders. The man seated has a hat with a brim, while the other seems to be wrapped in fabric. They are identified as “Pedro Agutcas” and “Pedro Aguilar."
