A beautiful handwoven jacquard coverlet. Its weft consists of a very dark indigo color, which has maintain most of its stability over the years. On one end the coverlet is stitched "M.C. 1831.," not only giving us an accurate telling of how old this coverlet is but also an extra personal touch to a coverlet no doubt used to keep generations of family members warm.
