Carlos Merida (Guatemalan/Mexican, 1891-1984)
Attributed.
Gouache and ink on paper depicting an abstract composition of interlocking geometric shapes that suggest stylized figures. The palette features vibrant primary blues and yellows, complemented by warm oranges, browns, and whites, all delineated with bold black outlines. Signed "CARLOS MERIDA 1970" in the lower center. Unframed.
Carlos Merida was a pioneering Guatemalan-Mexican artist recognized for his abstract and geometric approach. Though associated with Mexican muralism, his unique style diverged from its narrative tradition, focusing on abstraction and indigenous motifs. He remains a significant figure in modern Latin American art.

10.12. Regulatory & Export Processing
Where a lot requires export documentation, cultural-property review, customs processing, governmental authorization, or other regulatory procedures, dispatch may be temporarily delayed until the applicable requirements have been completed.
Gallery Arts & Auctions LLC will coordinate or reasonably assist with the procedures necessary for shipment where applicable; however, processing times imposed by governmental authorities, customs agencies, carriers, or other third parties are beyond the gallery’s control.
10.13. All shipping arrangements must be coordinated through the gallery unless otherwise expressly authorized in writing. This requirement helps ensure consistent professional packing, documentation, and handling standards.
