Signed and dated stained glass panel depicting Saint Martin de Porres, created in 1954 by Brazilian Franciscan artist Fray Arnaldo Marcolino Maas.
The composition portrays the Dominican lay brother holding a cat, referencing the well-known tradition of Saint Martin’s compassion toward animals and the poor. The figure is rendered with expressive facial modeling and bold mid-century linework, surrounded by richly colored glass in deep reds, cobalt blues, amber, and textured clear panels.
Along the right edge appears the Spanish inscription “B. Martin,” interpreted as Beato Martin (Blessed Martin), referencing Saint Martin de Porres’ veneration within Catholic devotional tradition.
The panel remains mounted within an iron architectural frame, suggesting installation within a chapel or institutional religious setting. Its vertical composition and strong color contrasts give the work significant visual presence suitable for display.
