The Gray's January Fine Antiques, Art and Decorations Auction features porcelain and art accepted and displayed in Paris. At the Paris Exhibition of 1878, two of a set of eight Minton Cabinet Plates attributed to Christopher Dresser and formerly belonging to Newton A. Rockefeller were exhibited in Paris. Continuing a Parisian theme is the large landscape by Marcel Adolph Bain entitled Le Petit Pont that earned a place at the Society des Artistes’ 1914 Salon. 30 English and French Porcelain Plates, Cups & Saucers, 19th/20th Century,
By various makers comprising:
4 Royal Worcester Diana pattern demi-tasse cups and saucers;
4 Royal Worcester tea cups;
8 Paragon saucers with one cup;
2 Paris Porcelain cups, 2 saucers and 2 x 7 in. diameter plates;
1 unmarked cup and saucer;
1 Limoges 9 1/2 in. diameter cabinet plate.Condition
One Paris porcelain saucer marked JP has a hairline crack through. Gilt loss and stains throughout. Pink cup and saucer: Pinhead flea bite chip to upper rim of cup. Scuffs and fine scratches to gilt on inside and outside of cup and saucer. Cup handle in good condition. No repairs. No cracks to handle.
