The Gray's December Fine Antiques, Art and Decorations Auction features a rare Federal Cylinder Desk and Bookcase from Bankson and Lawson, Baltimore, created between 1785 - 1792, along with many other intriguing antiques, several 16th C - 19th C paintings by Flemish, Dutch and German artists and numerous silver, gilt and bronze decorations. An American Flame Mahogany Butler's Desk, New York, Circa 1825.
The fall-front desk with original circular brass pulls and hardware, over a double cabinet fitted with a bottle compartment and drawers, upper desk interior compartment with eight small drawers, eight cubby holes, separated by a central cabinet door with locking drawer. Has letter paper label which reads, Made by G. Shorley, Sept 22, 1825.

Replaced drawer pulls to inside of desk compartment. Surface scratches and wear to finish. Horizontal split to top board on rear of desk. chips and losses to veneer on apron. Joint separations.
