London: printed for W. Hawes at the Rose in Ludgate-street, 1699.
A tutor to astronomy and geography. Or, an easie and speedy way to know the use of both the globes, coelestial and terrestial [sic]. In six books. ... More fully and amply than hath been set forth, either by Gemna [sic] Frisius, Metius, Hues, Wright, Blaew, or any others that have taught the use of the globes: ... With an appendix shewing the use of the Ptolemaick sphere. The fifth edition, corrected and enlarged. By Joseph Moxon. Whereunto is added the ancient poetical stories of the stars; shewing reasons why the several shapes and forms are pictured on the coelestial globe. As also a discourse of the antiquity, progress, and augmentation of astronomy.

Bound in rebound in blindstamped mottled leather, raised bands, gilt spine panels, leather spine label, gilt spine title, marbled endpapers, speckled edge.
H: 8 1/4 W: 6 3/4 in.
With book label on front pastedown endpapers, “Caravan-Maritime Books / 87-06 168th Place / Jamaica, New York 11432.” With paper laid in, “This piece is an endpaper of the 1686 ed. of Moxon, from which the frontispiece portrait of Moxon, was made in facsimile.”Condition
Good. With significant foxing, trimmed close to text.
