- Lot Description
A double-barreled percussion shotgun with a twisted steel barrel showing nice patterning. There is a rubbed mark near the breech which may have been the place of manufacture, though it is obscured and difficult to read now. This piece is likely of European manufacture, but could be an American piece. The wood furniture is nicely checkered, while the lockplates and breech tang are engraved with filigree motifs.
19th century.
L: 47 in., (119.4 cm.)
Condition
Missing right hammer. Left hammer with thumb-grip cracked off. Missing ramrod. Wood furniture with some small dents and scratches. No apparent cracks or chips.
