- Lot Description
A well-crafted Caucasian kindjal dagger of a characteristic form with beautifully decorated silver and niello mounts to the hilt and scabbard, showing typical Caucasian style patterning. The straight, double-edged blade has 4 fullers along its entire length. One side is stamped with two identical marks on a semi-rectangular section near the forte. The blade is kept within a black leather scabbard with a pointed metal finial.
Caucasus, 19th century.
L: 24 1/4 in., (61.5 cm.)
Condition
Some pitting to the blade, expected minor wear to leather. Niello in near perfect condition.
