- Lot Description
A small-frame single-action revolver of Colt’s “New Line†series, introduced in 1873 as part of the company’s effort to compete in the booming metallic cartridge pocket pistol market of the post–Civil War years. This example is chambered in .22 rimfire with a 5-shot fluted cylinder, 2 ¼ in. round barrel, and spur trigger. The steel frame with traces of original blued finish, fitted with smooth grips secured by a single screw.
Overall length 5 ¼ in., (13.3 cm). Barrel length 2 ¼ in., (5.7 cm).
Condition
Steel surfaces with age-darkened patina, showing wear and oxidation consistent with use. Cylinder and frame with traces of original finish. The grips are complete, showing natural age cracks and light patina, but free of major losses. Good action.
