A French patinated bronze bust of Diane de Poitiers (1499-1566) after Jean Goujon (1510- 1567). The bust is not a portrait but a tribute to Diane de Poitiers, taking over the work entitled "Diane d'Anet" (Diana of Anet) or "Fontaine de Diana" (Fountain of Diana) exhibited at the Louvre Museum. The goddess is with a high hairstyle decorated with pearls and a tiara. Presented on a pedestal. 19th Century.H: 18 1/2 in., (47 cm.)The bronze is in excellent condition.
