- Lot Description
A finely crafted Art Nouveau style vase by the Gorham Manufacturing Company titled 'Athenia'. The body of the piece is of copper, molded in a nice curvaceous form, mounted with a frame of silver towards the quadriform base with pierced decoration revealing the copper beneath, and two long curved handles reaching up towards the center of the vase. The verso is marked 'Gorham Co. AY222' along with two other marks, an Anchor and an Hourglass. United States of America, c. 1900.H: 16 1/2 in., (42 cm.)Very good with nice patina. All parts are tight.
