Each of circular scalloped form with gently moulded borders, decorated in the center with finely painted floral bouquets composed of roses, tulips, cornflowers, and wildflowers, accompanied by scattered sprigs and insects, executed in delicate polychrome enamels on a white ground. The rims are subtly heightened with a narrow gilt edge. The reverse plain white with recessed foot, several bearing a hand-painted blue inventory or workman’s mark in the form of the letter "Z". The painterly style, floral vocabulary, and restrained use of gilding are consistent with mid-19th-century Russian porcelain production, intended for refined table service and cabinet display.
D 9 1/2 in., (24.2 cm.)
Overall good condition. Minor rubbing and thinning to gilt edges. Light surface wear, small firing imperfections, and occasional minor glaze impurities are consistent with age and use. One plate has a chip on the verso.
