This mounted figure with a carved head strongly resembles the genre of "Rearing Horse and Mounted Warrior", a type of bronze statuette that depicts a rider atop a rearing horse. These pieces are often loosely attributed to the Viennese bronze foundry tradition. Sebastian or Franz Xavier Bergmann are known for producing similar horse-and-rider compositions with detachable riders.H: 18 1/2 in., (47 cm.)Overall, the piece appears in good condition.
