A finely cast Art Deco table lamp featuring a figural bronze base of two masked dancers in an intimate pose, with carved faces, typical of Tereszczuk's mixed-media work. The figures are mounted on a carved onyx base with a bronze foliate pedestal. The upward-swooping arm supports an iridescent flared glass shade with ruffled and striped design, evoking theatrical flourish in keeping with the lamp’s whimsical character.
The elongated forms, theatrical masks, and romantic embrace are associated with Stefan Tereszczuk (Austrian, 1875–1944), known for his bronze and ivory figural sculptures in Vienna during the early 20th century.H: 19 3/4 in., (50 cm.)
