- Lot Description
A lot of 4 brightly colored lithographs depicting scenes of various Imperial German mounted regiments, including one of Kaiser Wilhelm II riding with his staff. The others are Kürassier-Regiment „von Seydlitz“ (Magdeburgisches) Nr. 7 performing exercises with their lances, the Sachsische Garde-Reiter-Regiment riding their horses across a field, and the Königlich Bayerisches 2 Feld-Artillerie-Regiment „Horn“ on the march with artillery in tow.
All were printed by the Werner Company of Akron, Ohio in the United States. Two bear the names of the artists who designed them; G. Arnold for the Curassier Regiment and M. Podher of Berlin for Kaiser Wilhelm II. Each artwork is bordered by a bright gilt trim.
17 1/2 x 12 1/2 in., (44.5 x 31.8 cm.)
Condition
Very good, with minimal foxing consistent with age. Gilding shines brightly. Small tears at very edge of paper, no loss or damage to artworks.
