A Russian naval cadet dirk with a straight, rigid steel blade of pronounced diamond-cut section throughout, tapering evenly to a sharp point and designed for stiffness rather than cutting. The hilt is mounted in gilt-brass with a crossguard terminating in rounded quillons, fitted with a white grip of an oval section, secured by a gilt pommel cap and button. The crossguard is marked with a Cyrillic letter "B". The dirk is accompanied by its original scabbard, of wood covered in black leather and mounted with gilt brass throat, middle mount, and chape, each fitted with suspension rings for belt wear.
L: 14 1/4 in., (36.2 cm.)
Bone handle slightly warped. Guard handle slightly loose. Blade with some pitting and oxidation. Brass fittings with some dents throughout.
