This is a Soviet-era porcelain figure of ballerina Tamara Karsavina as the Firebird (Жар-Птица / Zhar-Ptitsa) in Igor Stravinsky’s ballet The Firebird, created by artist R. Ivanov in 1922.
Depicting ballerina Tamara Karsavina in a vibrant costume inspired by Leon Bakst’s design for Stravinsky’s Firebird, her body arched and poised as if mid-dance, lavishly painted in vivid polychrome enamels and gold.
Underside inscribed in Russian: "Т. КарÑавина в роли Жар-Птицы в балете И. СтравинÑкого 'Жар-Птица'. Ðвтор Ð . Иванов."
