- Lot Description
An engraved lidded gilt-silver tankard is of a tapering form, with partially niello-decorated leafy arabesques on a round base. Centered on either side of two cartouches engraved with "1854" and "Moscow". The hinged lid and handle are decorated in suit. Gilt interior. Russian hallmarks: 84 silver proof, silversmith initials, Moscow, 1851. Weight: 9.5 oz., 269.5 g.H: 4 3/8 in., (11 cm.), D: 3 1/8 in., (8 cm.)Very good for the age and medium.
