- Lot Description
A rectangular silver cigarette case, the front engraved with a detailed panoramic view of the Riga city skyline, including its iconic spires and waterfront, framed by a decorative border and inscribed with the monogram "RK." The interior is gilded and fitted with two elastic retaining bands. The closure is set with a cabochon (likely synthetic ruby or carnelian). Hallmarks: S (in lozenge), Soviet 875 silver standard (875/1000), post-1958 Soviet assay mark. Soviet silver cigarette cases often served as commemorative or presentation items, frequently adorned with images of famous Soviet landmarks or cities. Weight: 7.5 oz., (212 g.)4 1/4 x 3 3/8 in., (10.7 x 8.2 cm.)Very good with expected signs of wear and age.
