- Lot Description
Three Soviet Russian oil on canvas paintings by V. Golentsev, depicting the leader of the first three Soviet Secret Police organizations, Felix Dzershinsky. The three canvases are dated 1961, 1969, and 1970 respectively. Each piece is signed to the lower right by the artist. The verso of one piece bears a later inscription in Russian with a commemoration for the 60th anniversary of the secret police, as well as the date of the commemoration, 1978. Soviet Russia, 1961-1970.Each approximately 24 1/2 x 19 1/4 in., (62.2 x 48.9 cm.)Condition varies. First two in good condition with some minor flaking, third with some additional larger spots of flaking left side. Please refer to photos.
