ASIAN CELADON POTTERY BOWL, (UPDATED 4/21/15) of five-lobed form, with incised foliate and cloud design to well walls, surrounding a band of partial Greek key or key-fret design, and centered stylized floral blossom. Unmarked. In Korean Goryeo/Koryo dynasty style, possibly a Joseon dynasty copy of earlier style. Possibly Goryeo/Koryo period, 14th century, probably late Joseon dynasty. 5 3/8" H, 13 1/8" D.
Provenance: From a Rockbridge Co., VA private collection.
Excellent condition, with several open bubbles and other firing or glaze flaws as made; two moderate open bubbles to exterior walls, and one glaze flake as made under rim exterior.
