with press-molded scallop-shell rim, with cobalt blue bands to edges, centering two long-tailed peafowl painted in blue, ocher, orange and brown, standing on curling brown branches, surrounded by green-sponged foliage. Both plates impressed WEDGWOOD. Circa 1800-1820. 7 3/4" D.

The first in good condition, with two small chips to rim and a shallow chip to foot rim; the second is in moderate condition, with stains, scratches, chipping to the outer edge, and some exfoliation to the bird.
