with press-molded scallop-shell rim, with cobalt blue bands to edges, centering stylized peafowl in polychrome enamels, on curling brown line branches, surrounded by green sponged foliage, covering the face of the plate. One, impressed D, and with three brown tally marks to the underside; the other with an impressed pattern forming a square with curved sides. One, possibly Fell; the other possibly Swansea. Circa 1800-1825. 7 5/16" and 7 1/4" D.

The first in very good condition, with a tiny area on the shoulder, unglazed due to peeling off in kiln stacking, and two other flaws to shoulder, also from stacking. The second, in good condition, with wear to the inner rim of shoulder, and some scratching to enamels.
