JAIL CARVERS (SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA, ACTIVE 1900 - 1945), ATTRIBUTED, FOLK ART CARVED AND PAINT-DECORATED FIGURAL GROUP, an outstanding example, featuring an arrest of four miscreants, handcuffed together, with peg-leg pirate and spilled treasure nearby, policeman with billy club drawn standing guard while on call box attached to street lamp post. Mounted on a molded walnut base. Street lamp wired and fitted with electric light. Original paint-decorated surface. Circa 1930-1940. 14 3/4" HOA, 13 1/4" W, 4 3/4" D.
