Ca. 1860-1890 - A tall carved figural handle of a gentleman in a newsboy style hat with bow tie and 4 circular brass rivets on his left side, silver and gold toned collar with no hallmarks, handle can be unscrewed to pull a 25 1/4" pike sword from the hardwood shaft, and a matching brass ferrule, fine condition with rich patina and visible tool marks consistent with period hand craftsmanship, some oxidation to metal and slight surface wear, mechanism and blade in good working condition.
