20th Century - A figural hard stone and enamel cane; the 4 3/8"" x 3 1/4" x 1 1/4" handle is finely cut from a natural jasper to depict a bird of prey head including feathers and brilliant glass eyes; the handle screws on to an antique rosewood shaft which is missing a ferrule; the bright royal blue guilloche enamel in the handle is accented with vermeil laurels and set with diamonds including a large "M" workmanship over the enamel; Hallmarks on this cane indicate 916/1000 parts silver ("88") vermeil covered in gold. The makers mark "AN" is for Antti (Anders Johan) Nevalainen; the common red color is due to iron inclusions. H-3 1/4"x1 1/4" OL-36"
