Ca. 1900 - A very large fruit wood handle carved to depict a parrot perched atop of a wood stem, chased silver collar, knobby kongo wood shaft and a metal ferrule. The large bird with an upright stance, beautiful feather coat and long tail shows the characterizing strong, curved bill, and is embellished by two inset glass eyes. This delightful cane has the allure of a staff and is praised by the rightful, age grown and dark patina.
