Large scale ceramic double spouted teapot created by Los Angeles designer and artist of the Memphis Group, Peter Shire. Teapot measures 16" high by 14.5" wide and 5.5" deep. It is signed EXP, W.B.B., 02. In very good vintage condition.

Peter Shire American is an American ceramic artist and designer known for his unique, pastel colored mugs, teapots, and furniture. _ÑÒWhat I strive for in my work_ÑÓand this is an ongoing thing, and that is the key element of making a pot is, a volume,_Ñ he has explained. Born in 1947 in Los Angeles, CA, he studied ceramics at the Chouinard Institute before starting his own studio in 1972. He continues to live and work in Los Angeles, California. Today, Shire_Ñés works are held in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, among others.
