Artist Bio
Andy Warhol (1928–1987) was the leading figure of the American Pop Art movement, renowned for his provocative use of mass-produced imagery and celebrity culture. From his early depictions of Campbell’s soup cans and Coca-Cola bottles to his portraits of Marilyn Monroe, Jackie Kennedy, and other icons, Warhol blurred the boundaries between high art and commercial design. His studio, The Factory, became a hub of creativity and counterculture in 1960s New York, attracting artists, musicians, and socialites. Warhol’s embrace of silkscreen printing and other mass-production techniques cemented his legacy as one of the most influential and groundbreaking artists of the 20th century.
